The Challenge

In 2018, Gympie RSL’s management identified that their ICT platform was no longer aligned with the growing demands of the Club’s operations. As the organisation underwent extensive renovations and growth over the preceding years, their technology infrastructure struggled to keep pace with these changes.

Specific challenges included:

  • As the Club expanded, its ICT needs became more complex, and their existing platform couldn’t efficiently support the growing number of users and services.
  • The Club’s expanding operations, including new facilities and increased member engagement, required more robust ICT infrastructure.
  • Management were concerned that inefficiencies within their existing platform might present security risks.

Veracity was engaged to perform a comprehensive ICT Health Check and provide a clear roadmap for improvement. After assessing the environment, it became evident that Gympie RSL needed a holistic, long-term approach to their ICT infrastructure to support their growth and ensure reliability.

The Opportunity

After the initial assessment, Veracity worked closely with Gympie RSL to identify key priorities and develop a detailed plan to modernise their ICT platform. The primary opportunity was to enhance the infrastructure to better support the Club’s operations and future growth. Key activities included:

  • Implementing security upgrades: Veracity recommended and deployed multi-factor authentication (MFA) to enhance security and protect the Club’s data and digital assets.
  • We introduced a cloud-based backup solution to ensure the reliability and protection of critical data, mitigating the risks of data loss or system downtime.
  • We prioritised necessary infrastructure upgrades and worked to streamline the ICT environment to make it more efficient and easier to manage, with scalability in mind for future needs.

With these foundational upgrades in place, Veracity transitioned Gympie RSL to proactive, 24/7 IT support through a Managed Services Agreement, ensuring ongoing assistance as their ICT needs continued to evolve.
